Recovery Celebration
Saturday, September 24, 2022
12 pm – 4 pm Kit Carson Park
On September 24, 2022 from 12noon to 4:00pm, Recovery-Friendly Taos County is hosting an event at Kit Carson Park to celebrate recovery and encourage individuals with a mental health or substance use disorder to seek recovery and achieve a healthy, happy life. Mental health and substance use disorders can affect anyone, including people in Taos County, where over 3,000 people have a mental health or a substance use disorder. Our community must remain dedicated to the recovery process by helping people address these preventable and treatable conditions, and support individuals in recovery, as well as their family members.
Recovery-Friendly Taos County activities are part of Recovery Month. This year, we will be observing Recovery Month by having food, music, and recovery art. There will be a reading of a Proclamation. Featured speaker, Jimmy Santiago Baca, Award-Winning Poet and Author will share his story of recovery.
Sponsors: Recovery Communities of New Mexico, Taos Community Foundation, LOR Foundation, Taos Pueblo, Town of Taos, Taos County, Taos News, and Rio Grande ATP.
